  • Founded in Mexico City in 2020 by Patricia Maria Pietri, Costaiia operates at the intersection of fashion, material culture, and narrative practice. Conceived as an ongoing investigation into the cultural and symbolic dimensions of dress, the brand collaborates with artisans and craftspeople throughout Mexico to develop garments that emerge from sustained dialogues with traditional textile knowledge and inherited techniques.

    Rather than treating clothing as an autonomous object, Costaiia approaches the garment as a cultural artifact—one capable of carrying memory, identity, and narrative across time. Each collection draws from archival research, oral histories, mythology, folklore, and domestic rituals, examining the ways in which collective memory becomes embedded in material form. These references are not reproduced literally, but translated into contemporary visual and tactile languages that negotiate the relationship between past and present.

    Production is rooted in close collaborations with weaving, embroidery, dyeing, and ceramic workshops across Mexico, integrating handcrafted processes with carefully sourced materials. Collections are produced in limited quantities, privileging longevity, craftsmanship, and intentional production over seasonal cycles and mass manufacturing.

    At its core, Costaiia is an exploration of how clothing can function as a repository of cultural memory. Through the preservation of artisanal knowledge and its reinterpretation within contemporary practice, the brand seeks to create garments that acknowledge the histories, labor, and material intelligence from which they emerge.

  • The Creative Studio is an interdisciplinary practice dedicated to the development of visual languages, narrative systems, and conceptual frameworks across fashion, hospitality, beauty, culture, and art. Established as an extension of Costaiia's ongoing creative research, the studio expands its methodology beyond the boundaries of the brand, applying the same investigative approach to a diverse range of creative projects.

    At the core of the studio is the belief that every project possesses an underlying narrative capable of shaping its identity. Rather than approaching creative work as the production of isolated assets, the studio develops cohesive conceptual structures that inform how a project is experienced across image, space, object, and communication. Research serves as the foundation of every commission, allowing historical, cultural, and material references to become the basis for distinctive visual languages.

    The studio works across multiple levels of the creative process, from conceptual development and creative consulting to art direction, production, and multidisciplinary collaboration. Depending on the needs of each project, this may involve defining a narrative framework, establishing a visual identity, directing photography and film, developing spatial concepts, assembling creative teams, or producing campaigns and experiences.
